Making hay by hand

Harvesting and baling grass hay without a tractor. I put up hay from areas around the farm that are too small or the ground too soft to get a tractor and machinery into. The process includes: 1) Cutting the grass with a scythe. 2) Raking and tedding (drying the hay by turning it over and spreading it out) with a pitchfork. 3) Collecting the dry hay with a pitchfork onto a wagon. 4) Making bales...

Disc has a repurposed pallet wood frame on top to hold the extra wheel weight. This helps cut through sod and hard clay. ATV has a lift kit and 30 inch tires, making it float over these challenging...

    why not put the feeder speed up a bit, and you can also just throw in the bushes instead of waiting as eventually everything will get sucked in by the feeder. some of the downside of this machine (this machine is everywhere with diff brands, same build etc) is that its kinda slow so u have to wait, with one that takes 120mm for half the price and with drum instead of flywheel you can just drop them in and pick up next one, something you can do here too. seen this one jam up sometimes from videos of others on yt with the feeder, not sure if that's ur concern to not just throw more in there cause if there's a lot of branches there's no time to wait really. but nice video! im sure it would do just fine with faster feeding speed, it is supposed to drag down on the RPM when bigger sticks goes through thats normal in case thats what ur avoiding, these use sentrifugalClutch so its made to be pounded a bit. you find these with briggs and stratton engine and kohler like yours and also Loncin, same build for all. how long u had this ? did u have some jamming with the feeder yet ?

    • @MuhaloTube
      @MuhaloTube 7 месяцев назад

      I have the infeed speed turned all the way up. You can see the controls at 1:25. Since this was a cold start, the oil is still pretty thick and slow. It does run a bit faster once it's warmed up. Jams will happen with any machine. Usually it's caused by a forked branch that won't flex into the opening. I usually identify those branches while I'm cutting and break them down in the right size. I have 60 hours on the machine so far. I've sharpened the blades twice and replaced 2 belts in that time.

      oh okay, are you sure its on max cause thats pretty slow, most of these models are the same. if thats the case I would prob just head over to a regular one like DK Pro 6 etc which are 1000 usd cheaper ish and chips much faster and also bigger wood. well since you already got ur chipper, I mean I hope it goes faster when its warmer! else it's gonna take very long time to get things done! @@MuhaloTube

  • @TigerLandworks
    @TigerLandworks 7 месяцев назад

    I was just wondering what you thought about the chipper and would you buy it again if you had to do it over? Thanks

    • @MuhaloTube
      @MuhaloTube 7 месяцев назад

      Overall I am satisfied with it. The design of the machine is pretty good, the build quality is pretty good, but some of the components are just okay. It does not keep up with a Vermeer (like you might find at a rental place) but it's half the price as well. For the way I use it (disposing of tree tops during general land space maintenance), I would buy it again. If I was doing anything commercial like landscaping or tree care, I'd save up for a true commercial quality machine.

    The only mistake here was not waiting to sit further in the front. While the absolute front is THE best part of the ride because you get the 1-2 seconds of hanging over the edge and you can't see the track while the rest of the train's inertia catches up, really anywhere in the first 2-3 trains works and normally it's the same length of line as the rest of the ride except for the very front. When you sit closer to the back on Wild Thing, the first drop pulls you forward over near the top and it's kind of jarring/jolting. The back of the ride is much bumpier than the front too. Just a personal preference but I always sit nowhere past the first three trains and will wait an extra ride or two if the lines are longer. It's that much of a different experience. Source: Me - having VF season passes for many years and have ridden this ride more times than I can count. 😃

      LOL that's exactly what happens. The zero G you get at the bottom of the initial drop and going up the second hill is the best part of the ride. You literally fly up and your behind is completely off your seat for a few seconds. I've ridden this more times than I can count and that part still gets me. Rest of the ride is pretty standard steel coaster fare TBH - but is very very smooth.

    +MuhaloTube, you've got to try Steel Venom. It is the scariest ride at Valleyfair. The only rough spot of it is during the 2nd backwards launch. Other than that surprise hard stop during that part, it's a coaster that will make you laugh hard.

      @@ruebee4334 The down version of Power Tower is only a little scary if you don't know the drop sequence. After going on it a few times you can easily count backwards in your head after you hear the brakes release at the very top and know when you're dropping. The up version isn't scary at all and actually feels exhilarating like flying. For my money, it's Steel Venom all day.
